Directions for making a post

How do I post when it is my turn?


Step #1: You'll need to meet with me either before school, during lunch, or after school to quickly get you signed up to be able to post your blog and go over the essential concept(s) that we covered in science the past 2-3 lessons. I'll also show you how to get to the blog so that you are able to post and publish

Step #2: Once we've met then you can write and publish your post. Your post will be due 2 days after your are assigned to be the "class blogger".  All classes will read it as part of their warmup shortly after it is published.


FORMAT STEPS:

STEP 1: Change the "Post Title" at the top to the Essential concept we have covered, your name, and the date.
Example: What causes the phases of the Moon? by Luna Phase 9/3/12

STEP 2: Paragraph #1 (5-7 sentences minimum and one diagram included). Explain what the essential science concept(s) were for the previous week of study in class. Your explanation should be detailed enough that somebody with very little prior knowledge of the concept is able to gain a better understanding of the concept through your writing and sentences. INCLUDE 1 relevant picture or diagram with a caption that relates to the essential concepts at the end of this paragraph.

STEP 3: Paragraph #2 (5-7 sentences minimum and one diagram included). Explain the activities we did in class as well as the homework you completed the previous week which helped gain a better understanding of the essential concept(s) you explained in the first paragraph. Try and focus on no more than 2 specific activities, discussions, assignments that you did that supported your learning of the concept. Explain to your readers what the work was and what you had to do as well as explaining how it taught you about the concept. INCLUDE 1 relevant picture or diagram with a caption that relates to the essential concepts at the end of this paragraph.

STEP 4: BE SURE TO INCLUDE ONE RELEVANT DIAGRAM WITH A CAPTION FOR EACH PARAGRAPH OF YOUR POST. You should also list the WEBSITE where you got the image from. Remember GOOGLE Images is not the site, you have to insert the actual webpage where the site was from to receive credit for this.

STEP 5: SPELL CHECK YOUR DOCUMENT

STEP 6: REREAD YOUR POST BEFORE YOU PUBLISH IT FOR THE PUBLIC. DOES IT MAKE SENSE?

STEP 7: CLICK SAVE

STEP 8: CLICK PUBLISH!!!
